Welcome to the new year!

If your 2024 was a challenging one (it was for many of us), we hope 2025 will be a better year. If 2024 was good for you, we wish for more of that for you!

In our December Tips post, we asked the question: What Will You Carry Into 2025? with an encouragement to pause and reflect. (We doubled-down on that “pause and reflect” advice in our most recent couple Pulses, too. Yes, we think it’s that important!)

Hopefully you had an opportunity to or purposely made some time to do that deep reflection on the year, to answer that question ☝🏻 and its companion one: What Are You Leaving Behind?

Sometimes I think the latter question is both easier and harder to answer. We know those difficult situations, hardships, and losses we’re happy to never experience again. But what about the lessons we learned from them? We want to carry those with us, don’t we, even as we leave the actual experiences in the past?

Also more difficult, I think, are those things we want to carry with us, but can’t. Those projects we really want to do but need to jettison in favor of other projects that are more important. Those goals or habits or even relationships that no longer serve us (present us or future us).

I don’t have any pithy tips for you on how to answer those questions (though Maghan’s pulled together some posts to help below). I just know that we all need to answer them, so we start the journey of the new year with the right stuff (and right amount of stuff) in our backpack.

Happy New Year, and Happy Journeys in it!

A prompt to pause and reflect.

What’s one thing you absolutely are carrying with you into this new year? And what one thing are you absolutely leaving behind in 2024?

We’d love to hear what’s coming up for you.
